Official Declaration

To swiftly coordinate resources and implement emergency measures that stabilize critical sectors and ensure public safety.

Established by Executive Order, the EIC is empowered to bypass bureaucratic bottlenecks in time of crisis. Our mandate is clear; identify risks, mobilize resources and execute rapid response strategies to protect the citizens of Taraba State.

Seven Critical Sectors

Infrastructure Development

Mandate: Rapid Reconstruction and Connectivity

The EIC is mandated to fast-track the rehabilitation of collapsed bridges, arterial road networks, and public buildings that have hindered economic growth. By streamlining procurement through the Bureau for Public Procurement, the Committee aims to restore critical transport links, improve statewide connectivity, and ensure that all senatorial zones are accessible for emergency services and trade.

Education

Mandate: Restoration of Learning Environments

Recognizing education as a human services priority, the Committee is tasked with the massive renovation of dilapidated primary and secondary schools. This emergency response includes implementing Governor Agbu Kefas’s free education policy, providing essential learning materials, and upgrading vocational centers to ensure that every Taraba child has access to a safe, modern, and high-quality learning environment.

Healthcare Delivery

Mandate: Revitalizing Life-Saving Services

The EIC’s mandate is to overhaul the state’s healthcare system by addressing the acute shortage of medical supplies and the deteriorating state of general hospitals. The Committee focuses on equipping primary healthcare centers with modern diagnostic tools, ensuring the availability of essential drugs, and strengthening emergency medical response systems to protect the health and welfare of all citizens.

Agriculture

Mandate: Ensuring State Nutritional Sovereignty

To combat the food service crisis, the Committee is empowered to mobilize resources for farmers, including the provision of modern machinery, high-yield seeds, and fertilizers. The mandate includes establishing strategic food reserves and supporting agricultural value chains to drive down food inflation and guarantee that every household in Taraba State has access to affordable, nutritious food.

Water Resources

Mandate: Clean Water Access for All

The Committee is directed to address the critical breakdown of water treatment plants and distribution networks. By prioritizing the repair of urban water systems and the drilling of solar-powered boreholes in rural communities, the EIC aims to eliminate water-borne diseases and ensure a steady, reliable supply of potable water for domestic and industrial use across the state.

Energy

Mandate: Powering Growth through Resilience

The EIC is tasked with stabilizing the state’s energy infrastructure by investing in renewable energy solutions and upgrading existing power grids. This mandate seeks to provide reliable electricity to hospitals, schools, and small businesses, creating an enabling environment for economic activities to thrive even during the recovery period.

Environment/Climate Change

Mandate: Climate Resilience and Disaster Prevention

In response to the growing threat of climate change, the Committee is mandated to implement aggressive erosion control measures and reforestation programs. The EIC focuses on protecting the state’s natural resources, managing waste more effectively, and establishing early-warning systems to mitigate the impact of floods and other environmental disasters on Taraba’s infrastructure.
